xink version 0.02 Raph Levien This is an early alpha version of xink, a drawing program for X that attempts to capture the feel of pen-and-ink drawing. Significant code was borrowed from gink 0.1 by Owen Taylor . It's still fairly rough code. The user interface lacks polish. Some important niceties (such as the ability to specify a filename for loading and saving). are missing. It's not as fast or portable as it should be. Yet, it will probably be fun to play with. This version of xink can use an 8 bit pseudocolor display, a 16 bit per pixel high color display organized as 5/6/5 bits, or a 24 bit true color display. To draw, use the first mouse button, or a Wacom pad configured as an XInput device named either "Wacom" or "STYLUS". In addition, a Wacom device configured as "ERASER" will operate the eraser. Keyboard commands are: '+' and '-' to zoom in and out, respectively the arrow keys to scroll the 's' key to save the image into "xink.pbm" the 'l' key to load the image from "xink.pbm" (needs to be 4000 x 4000 pixels) the 't' key to toggle the toolbar the 'z' and 'r' keys for undo and redo, respectively the spacebar to toggle between drawing black and white the '[' and ']' keys to control the size of the brush the '<' and '>' keys to control the pressure sensitivity the 'q' key to quit Don't resize the window - it's fixed at 500 x 500 pixels. Similarly, the image size is fixed at 4000 x 4000 pixels.
